Raised in Harlem, went to school in New Hampshire and now I'm back in the city working at a non-profit (education). I like learning, avocados, hanging out, and stand-up comedy (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rGw0lK_fIds&feature=related).
I gave up the comfort of Virginia and family surroundings to persue my passsion of stand up comedy, but while I work my way up the comedy club ranks I'm working as a stock broker in midtown. I'm not going to bore you by telling you how wonderful I am by attaching to my name a bunch of flattering adjectives. If your looking for that I'm sure you can find that in the next profile. I love words I was a communications major in college, thus I love to converse.
besides sports, technology and films. I'm a huge stand-up comedy fan. I don't go enough, but it's something I'm always listening to when I'm traveling or working.
Thai food and stand-up comedy
I thought it might be interesting to share with you what I wanted to be when I grew up at various points in my life. Age 5: Dancer, Age 13: Pro-bowler, Age 17: SEC Attorney, Age 21: Psychologist, Age 24: Stand-up comedian, Age 27: Technology consultant (achieved), Age 32...left the consulting world and now work in the healthcare industry. About 4 years ago, I re-discovered my interest in stand-up comedy. I perform 4-5 times a month at comedy clubs in Manhattan and Long Island.
I have encyclopedic knowledge of stand-up comedy, classic cartoons, random trivia, and movies.
Sweet tea and stand up comedy.
Film, television, breakfast foods, game shows, songs with handclaps or banjos, bad stand up comedy, coffee, stories that feature body-switching, people who are infatuated with things that I'll never understand (like, have you ever been to a state fair? Some people just look at tractors. It's bizarre.)
UCLA-educated, former professional boxer... so naturally, I am now trying to pursue a stand-up comedy career.
I grew up a little nerd girl in Wilmington, DE. Then I studied English Lit and did tons of improv comedy at Boston University. After I graduated, I lived in London for six months where I took a pretentious acting course and sold soap in Covent Garden. I moved back to Boston for a few years where I used to run road races, sing karaoke and do sketch comedy. I moved to NYC last year and I do stand up comedy or improv most nights.
