The short version: Tea. (In the interest of time, feel free to skip forward) The long version: Classical music, lots of other music, European art (especially Italian Renaissance), Japanese culture, cognitive psychology, education & pedagogy, theatre, opera, world travel, NYC, London, Italy, my 3 guitars, sailing, cross-country skiing (dowhnill less so), Ballroom dancing (competitive & social), long-distance cycling (no longer), teaching all sorts of people how computers work, technology, business, strategy, investing, choral & a cappella singing, or singing in various languages I don't know, jamming with people, home-made mojitos, dirty martinis, Campari, cognac, various cheeses, English afternoon tea, the Japanese tea ceremony, and just tea in general. (I offered to skip forward, now didn't I?) These have been my loves over time, with various degrees of attention given to each. However, I am much more single-minded when it comes to female companionship!
Dog Day Afternoon
I'm going with "Coming to America," but not because it's my favorite movie, but because it is always on some channel during Saturday afternoons.
Love music and theatre. Preferably both at the same time. I also have a brunch blog - you can drink and eat breakfast food in the late afternoon. What's not to like!?
I am a big fan of The Beatles. That is mostly due to hearing "She Loves You"on the radio one December afternoon and singing along for no reason. From that afternoon on, I knew that Rock music would be my genre of choice.
Matrix, Wizard of Oz, Groundhog Day (Used to watch it each year on Groundhog Day), The opening 10 minutes of Dog Day Afternoon with Elton John's - Amoreena playing is my favorite movie scene opening of all time. This is the New York City I grew up in and was 14 when it was filmed :)
There are far too many movies that kill an afternoon if I come across them on Cable. But this week, I'll list: Rushmore Nashville An American in Paris
First concert: KROQ Weenie Roast with Blink-182 and Green Day. Dream concert: all-day, mixed genre. Wake up to upbeat ethnic, chill and dance to some indie folk during the day, energize with an afternoon alternative sesh, slow down a bit in the evening, and heat up the night with house.
In Zhongdian (a.k.a. Shangri-La), China, my sister and I were riding around on a scooter in the middle of nowhere and got hungry so we stopped in this Tibetan village and asked if there was anywhere to eat. No such luck, but the villager pointed us to a house. The woman of the household invited us in and we spent the afternoon drinking butter tea (more like forcing it down our throats - I don't recommend it), eating some kind of delicious bread that she made and trying to communicate with her. We deduced that she was married, had no children, and was younger than me. It was awesome, except for feeling sick all day after having drank, like, a stick of butter each.
most likely Braveheart, I used to watch it every sunday afternoon when I was in high school, but I havent popped it in the player in awhile
